Humidity Sensing Principle
Humidity sensors typically use capacitive or resistive sensors. A capacitive humidity sensor determines the humidity by monitoring the effect of moisture content in the air on the sensor's capacitance. When the air humidity increases, water molecules change the capacitance of the sensor material. By measuring the change in capacitance, the corresponding humidity level can be calculated.
A resistive humidity sensor, on the other hand, measures changes in the sensor's resistance caused by variations in moisture content. When the humidity is high, the resistance inside the sensor is lower, and conversely, when the humidity is low, the resistance is higher. By measuring the change in resistance, the control system can calculate the current air humidity.
Working Process of Temperature and Humidity Cables
Temperature and humidity cables typically integrate temperature and humidity sensors with the conductors of the cable. When the cable is exposed to different environmental conditions, the sensors continuously measure the surrounding temperature and humidity, converting these signals into corresponding electrical signals. These signals are then transmitted via the cable conductors to a control system or data acquisition device. Upon receiving the signals, the system processes the data, displays real-time temperature and humidity values, or performs control actions based on preset parameters, such as activating ventilation equipment or adjusting air conditioning temperature.
Application Areas
Temperature and humidity cables are widely used in storage, agriculture, climate monitoring, smart homes, and industrial automation due to their ability to monitor environmental changes in real time and transmit data. In agriculture, they help farmers monitor temperature and humidity to optimize the growing environment for crops. In storage, temperature and humidity cables allow for real-time monitoring of the storage environment, preventing spoilage of temperature- and humidity-sensitive items such as grain and pharmaceuticals.
